Manila's Gem...Holy Family Parish in QC

Finally I made it to Holy Family Parish!  You would think Manila would have more Traditional Latin Masses Celebrated on Sundays.  With all the Catholics and all the priests in Manila but no.  Holy Family parish in Manila is a true Gem!

Our First Knight of St. John in Manila!

Hello to everyone!  Well, I would like to introduce the 1st future Knight of St. John in Manila!  What a great day.  Jerome is his name and I think he is 12 years old.  I forgot my note book this morning so I am going off of memory.  I met Jerome's mother after Mass as we gathered to go on procession through the barangay to honor the patron saints of the Parish here in Makati, St Peter and St Paul.  Jerome's mother saw me and she asked me for help telling me about her son, what a persistent mother!   So here is what I gathered from her,   she has a son named Jerome 12 years old and 4 other sons.  The father died a few years earlier from a similar condition as Jerome.  She showed me the bill for lab work and some meds from the national kidney transplant center in manila where Jerome was discharged from but, was being followed as an out patient.  It was late and I couldn't say no to her so I just had to trust her. I gave her some money and I told her to talk to the Parish priest next week.

I saw Jerome's mother 2 weeks later with Jerome at Church.  Jerome is a shy kid and doesn't respond well to English =)  When I talk to him he just puts his head down.  Before Jerome's mother was washing clothes for the priests but I think someone else is doing that now in her absence. The parish church gave Jerome's money for transportation.  I gave Jerome's Mother some more money for medical bills and her young family.   I told her the money was from the Catholics in Seattle, thank God for a Catholics in Seattle.   That's it for now I will see Jerome's Mother today at Mass and hopefully Jerome.  Right now we are busy looking for work for Jerome's mother.  Keep that endeavor in your prayers.
